Care and feeding of a 2007 Lexus GS450h

Recently purchased a GS450h hybrid, with 2GR-FSE 3.5l V6. 256k on the car, 150k on the replacement engine. Original engine failed from VVTi failures. Unsure of previous service regimen. There is a bit of VVTi rattle on cold (0 degrees F) startup.

Plan A is to use M1 0w30 at 5k intervals, unless there is compelling anecdata to try something else. Engine is spec'ed for 5w30.

Yeah 0W or maybe Valvoline R&P, filter with functioning ADBV necessary otherwise no oil will help.

I believe it takes a filter element. Not sure how those deal with the drain back valve. The 2007 manual has 5w30 only.

That is the 2007 manual. You have the US manual. Not the same thing.
Yeah check that it is not draining then.
