Car stalling coming to a stop

Hi, I have a 15 Taurus with the 6F50 that has stalled when stopping at an off ramp. This has happened a few times, but it's only when the car is fully heated up. If it doesn't stall the RPM will dip for a second down from the 600 idle, to 350ish rpm then recover. When it stalls I can start it up right away as if nothing happened.

I took it to a transmission shop, the replaced the torque converter, valve body, and solenoid module but the issue is still present :/

Has fuel pressure been checked? Could be a so so fuel pump if it is doing it on an off ramp.

Haven't checked it, I'll get (smaller) dips when stopping at lower speed roads. Like the higher the speed limit before stopping the higher the drop.

You posted a thread on this problem in February. So you’re telling us that the parts cannon has been fired without it being diagnosed properly?
You really need to take it somewhere and have it done right. You’re getting the same guesses here that you got last time.

Do what grasscutter suggested. I had a Chevy Silverado doing exactly what you are describing. Cleaned the idle air control valve and the throttle body while I was at it and it ran like a champ.

I did a double take reading this thread thinking "didn't we just have a thread where someone got a new torque converter because their car kept stalling after getting off the highway?". Glad to know I'm not crazy.

Take your car to a different mechanic.

Wow. Just realized he's been having this problem since at least 2022. You've probably wasted thousands. At this point, just take it to a dealer and pay for true diagnostics.

I’ve taken it to a shop and they insisted up and down it has to be something with the torque converter if it doesn’t do it in neutral

I can post the dealership diagnosis, which was we couldn’t find anything :/

This was at a ford dealer as well

Take it to another dealership. Take it to someone that will guarantee work. This is ridiculous. 3+ years of threads on here with the same problem. You could have bought another piece of junk car with the amount you have spent on it.

i did the water pump at a different dealer and they actually hit my car!

I think everyone is brain dead in my area

Take it out of town. Dude, come on. 3 years and multiple posts with shops just throwing random parts at it. Don't pay cash anymore. 100% unacceptable from these shops not making it right.

I'm actually in one of the biggest cities in the continent.

I took my car to dealer A. I told them after about 30 mins on the highway it does the near stall. They didn't take it on the highway because of rush hour found no issues and charged me the $250 diagnostic.

I went to a trusted mechanic, they said it's probably the TC. I took it to a transmission shop and they said it was the TC then started throwing the parts canon. He's trying to talk me into a rebuild but I'm not doing it.

Now I'm not sure who to go to next? Could it actually be an engine issue?

Just unload it. Take a loss on it. You've spent what almost $3000 on this crap? Price accordingly and let the new owner know how much time has been wasted. Just get something else.

I've read your post history. It's 3 years of being jerked around. I would be yelling at that transmission shop, but you paid cash and it's too late now.

You're not going to find an answer here to your problem because the basic stuff you've been told to check multiple times you said has been checked. It requires a specialist.
