Car sputtering, engine light flashing

Thank you for the tips. I asked them to find out what was wrong, and told them about the PO 171 code. I will go speak with them in the next few days and ask them about checking a vacuum leak. Actually when I picked up the car, there was no engine light. It came back after driving it for a day.

You are welcome. One of the shops may have cleared the codes and is why there was no CEL initially and it didn't come back until you did enough drive cycles to set the code again. Hopefully this new shop has a smoke machine. Some shops will use propane around suspected areas and monitor fuel trims and see if there is a change in the trims and if the engine changes how it runs momentarily.
