Most of the decline would be attributable to those items in addition to the countless electronic goodies we have come to expect. Ie heated seats, navigation, power everything.....

"I want to light this car on fire and drive it through their showroom" ...Sorry for your pain - but absolutely hilarious comment !!

Glad I bought the extended warranty. Why I did that I don't know. Nothing but trouble this car has been. Its falling apart inside and out. I wanna light this car on fire and drive it through their showroom. Ill never buy a Hyundai ever again. Pure junk. I am actually thinking about bringing the back to Hyundai and leaving it in the parking lot and saying its all yours. Could care less about my credit anymore. The cars a deathtrap.

Bingo.

This is just the tip of the iceberg as manufacturers are forced to meet crushing CAFE standards in the coming years thanks to {removed political content}.

Wow, I'd not consider True Delta at all. I don't care why a car "went into the shop" but what for. Best is to use all available sources and draw your own conclusions.

Oh come off it. Please, We have ALL of those things in at least one of our cars (less the CVT, but I have a dual clutch auto) and none of them have any problems at all. If people bothered to read anything, they've specifically said that when people rate cars using JD Power dependability, people consider being disappointed with acceleration, and engines being "too noisy" as the most common engine complaints. JD Power surveys are pointless because of things like that. It's not just problems it's "I don't like how this is done, therefor it's not dependable"

Don't bring up the EPA, it's a load of it. There are tons of cars out there with DI these days, and I'm not hearing reports of catastrophic failure due to it. Nor am I hearing really any problems with small turbo engines. I have DI. My dad's cruze has a small turbo engine, and has zero problems at 25k miles.

Good points, nick, however cars that are a few years old and inky have, say, 25k are far from solid indicators of reliability. Give it a few years and over 100k.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just saying that the data set needs to be complete before making the argument...
