I need to get my car up on the ramps (I have the old school metal ones) to get the starter back off. I'm taking it to a rebuild shop next week and dropping it off to have them rebuild it. Is it ok to leave my car up on the ramps all week? The way my driveway sits, there's no way for it to roll off,but of course I leave it in gear, engage the parking brake, and chock both rear wheels.

I swear it's so hot outside right now that ground burns my skin through my clothes! I'll probably wait to do it tonight once the sun goes down and the ground cools off.

That's using the old noodle!

We replaced our living room rug recently - should have kept it to park on. I mean work on.

Luxurious.

Metal ramps can dig in pretty deep in hot blacktop. To the point they might roll over sideways.

I had jack stands leave a mark in my driveway. They were set up on the frame rails just aft of the firewall, so got max pressure. They dented maybe 1/8 inch.

OP could chuck some jack stands or other solid stuff under his rocker panels just to be safe.

True, but it won't become as hot with the car and ramps shading it.

Small problem for my Pine-O-Ramps …

Absolutely! I'm going to put a scissor jack under each side of my car while it sits,to assist the ramps.
