Car Conundrum

Small update, the Taurus fate may be sealed. I get a pop/clunk when coming to a stop, but only when it's below 30. Once the car warms up it goes away. I've tried unsuccessfully few times to find it. Yesterday I took it to my mechanic. They're a good independent shop just down the road. They do a great assessment with pictures and rating (green, yellow, red) on what they find.
So far, the Taurus needs LCAs, engine mounts and transmission mounts. Do these engine and trans mounts look bad?

If you've had good success with the Taurus, buy another one. I still see them everyday around my neck-of-the-woods here in SE Michigan. I bought my grandson a non-rusted, almost brand-new-like interior 2005 model with only 85k mileage for $2500 last summer.
No idea, but if you trust the shop, then I'd trust what they have to say.
What is the cost of repair, and what is the cost of replacing the vehicle? I presume you'd want to replace like with like--or would you feel pressured into buying a new car so as to trust it? LCA's and mounts may be the cheapest option to eek out another year (or three), especially if the car is otherwise trusted.
Can't tell much from the photos but it looks like low rust?
Total bill for mounts, LCA and a leaking oil sending unit came to $2800. I've had bad engine mounts on past vehicles which generally exhibit some vibration. I've had none with the Taurus. It's an extremely smoothe and comfortable ride. The same as when I bought it.
We decided to only do the LCA for $900. She lives to fight another day!
