Well, I got my HDTV plugged into my Radeon and I can turn it on and get a desktop over there.
Heres the issue.
It looks like garbage. Its scaling for some reason. If I look in Catalyst it detect maximum resolution as 1920x1080 (1080P) when this is clearly a 720p screen. I think what its doing is taking any res I give it and scaling to the what it thinks is native resolution. Because I should be able to feed it 1366x768 JUST LIKE I DID WITH THE nV G210 IN MY OTHER MACHINE, and have it look great. What I get is the artifacting you get with scaling. I need to turn off scaling or manually override the maximum resolution it thinks.
I have the GPU scaling option unchecked, but for some reason, that isnt doing ANYTHING. I think its stuck on or it thinks its smarter than I am.
Any ideas?

Latest drivers? I know I had an issue doing the same thing with mine. Once I downloaded and installed the latest drivers, it worked fine. You need to remove the older drivers first though.

What kind of TV? I have a 32" Vizio that I'm using with my HTPC.

This is also a 32" Vizio. Im running Catalyst 12.1. I was running 12.2 but they removed a feature I wanted, so Im back to 12.1. It didnt make a difference either way.

Any ideas to get Catalyst to cooperate? Im thinking about springing for a GT520 for use as my secondary card and put both my VGA and the HDTV on that. I know I can get the nvidia software to cooperate. Though, I'd really prefer to avoid spending the money which is why I have not just done it yet.

So, I got the GT520 in and was able to get a resolution set that works right.
Then I came across another problem.
Windows 7 only lets you set one output audio device.
This is significant because an HDMI connected TV is a separate audio device. So you cannot output to both the sound card and the TV at the same time. You would have to switch the default device everytime you wanted TV output. Really. Stupid.
Thankfully, my Creative sound card has a virtual recording device called "What U Hear". Which does exactly what it says on the tin. Whats interesting is windows allows you to set a recording device as listenable, and even allows you to choose a SPECIFIC audio output.
So, with the Creative set as the default audio output device, set the What U Hear recording device on and looping back to the HDMI output. The TV audio ends up delayed slightly, but its no issue as long as the primary speakers are off. Which is easy.
I'd like to just use my regular speakers, but the TV is directly behind me if I am facing the primary monitor. 25ft HDMI cable. So watching the TV the speakers end up talking behind me, which is a bit wierd.
