You have to realize, however, that as many knowledgable members we have on here, there are that many more people who know "Mobil 1" as the best. Ask them to change their tire or air filter.

I'm not saying I don't like Mobil, but sometimes we think our knowledge of oils extends to the general public. We are only so influential.

My neighbor's friend's dogsitter's cousin swears by "X" oil, and I believe him, because he used to swap Si motors into Civics in an alley in the Bronx. He also saw that commercial that one time.

Getting them to admit they changed the formulation and use a primary group III base stock isn't detrimental to their patents. Although, it would be a kick in the pants to the educated consumer who was told it's primarily PAOs.
