I don't have the manual in front of me, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a "lifetime" fluid in there. I originally was planning on changing the trans oil when it got up around 100k, as that is the recommendation interval on my VW (as per tdiclub, VW says it's lifetime). But after reading about problem years on the Corolla I'm left wondering: 100k or perhaps sooner? I haven't read of bad things about this transmission, but I haven't scoured the web to find out.

2011 Camry six speed manual. Not the automatic.

I changed the MTF in my 2007 Corolla at 20k miles. My Corolla was one of the "problem units", uncharacteristic for a manual transmission. Anyway, I used Redline MT-90 if I recall correctly, and the difference it made was quite dramatic. It would just glide between gears with a very slight "snick, snick" with a row of the shifter. I'd strongly recommend changing the fluid...not for durability necessarily, but for improvement in operation. I don't know what type of fluid your 6-speed manual takes...it might take something like a 75W-90 or an 80W-90 GL-4 like my Corolla's 5-speed took. In which case, I think Redline MT-90 would be a great choice.

I have not looked at the manual yet; wife drives the Camry and hasn't complained, so I'd like to leave it alone... But not have issues. That said, it is not getting warmer up here, so either I do it real soon, have a shop do it, or wait until summer (and another 10-15k on the clock by then).

I swear, it sometimes doesn't slide in smoothly, so perhaps Redline would be a good call. My VW has been tolerant of whatever is in it, other than the one time I had non-synthetic in it, and it was hard moving until I drove a few miles.

In my fairly new to me Accord, I plan on doing Amsoil or Redline every 30K, maybe sooner.

I just had the dealer put the light Honda MTF in my lil FIT at 24k as I was having shift issues and ive read this stuff shears down fastand I load that trans up hard. Works like new now - videogame light - snicks right into gear no issues no over-concentrating on shifts anynore. That tranny fluid needs a changing!
The wear in lube is in there?! I would not wait for the spouse to complain, they may be just dealing with suboptimal performance for quite a while. Id use the real Honda stuff to be safe.

Honda has a tsb for the Accord MT 3rd gear grind. The solution is AC Delco Friction Modified mtf. Guys on the Accord forum seem to like it better than the Redline mtf.

While you don't need to, i would have changed it by now, to clear out break in metals.

I'm considering changing the 14 accord 6MT with its first OCI just for peace of mind. I think its two quarts of fluid, so it's not going to break me.
