Mostly a climate control thing for me. Otherwise there'd be about 1 month down here you could comfortably camp.
Camping season, where do you go?

I spent several days last week wild camping along the South Fork of the Sauk river by Darrington, WA. Just me, the Corgi and a flyrod. I didn't catch any fish but that's OK as it really wasn't the point. Most of this area was logged well over a hundred years ago but it's all grown back and there are still a lot of huge old growth trees. The average person would have no idea it has ever been cut. I only saw a few people back there the whole time.
We just returned from 13 days at 3 sites, James Island County Park (outside Charleston, SC), Private RV resort in Savannah, GA, and Jekyll Island. It was a great trip!
I live on James Island and that park is a wonderful park: Charleston County does a good job with the parks. I go over there to walk and have asked people camping there how they like the campground and have always gotten positive replies.
A/C = Glamping.
But I hear you.. couple weeks ago was fishing in Ontario during that 93f+ high humidity weather
No AC Cottage in direct sunlight.
Don't disagree with that at all. After a hot day of kayaking/hiking/etc coming back to a tent would be just too much for us. We're still young enough to enjoy those things, but old enough we need some comfort at the end of the day.A/C = Glamping.

I agree! We go every year and camp during the festival of lights. My 3 kiddos love it! We went to the waterpark this year for on day 1, Folly Beach on day 2, and piddled around on day 3 before we left for the second part of our trip. It is one of the nicest parks I've been to.
