Calculation of axle length

When installing spacers the change of length of an axle is of course more than obvious.

I was wondering if there is a formula for calculating the change of the axle length when changing tire size and/or rims that takes into account:

• the tires width
• the rims width
• the rims offset

I'm not sure. Which point matters for the extra stress the suspension components will deal with? I guess that has to do with the contact patch, not the sidewalls.

Well, off the top of my head, contact patch, track width, unsprung weight and scrub radius. Probably more I've forgotten
