Some viral marketing going on there. It's very odd to see Cadillac being positioned as a performance brand, in comparison to their historical approach.

+1,000 to that!

That is just freakin' awesome!

Glad to see some of the 'showmanship' coming back to GM....

LOL at smoking brakes at the end.

Some of those stunts I've seen Shriners do at parades.

I picked up one of David E. Davis's last commentaries while waiting for a haircut the other day. He was asked what he thought about Cadillac, and said "It seems like Cadillac is being run by people who don't really like Cadillacs." And went on to say that the Escalade was the most "Cadillac-like" vehicle they made.

Personally, I think the CTS-V is a fantastic car, and I'm glad they make it for the same reason I love the Chrysler 300 SRT-8. But I do think Cad should build a "softer" and bigger luxury car (not the Escalade) as well. The CTS replaces the Seville, but what carries on the tradition of the Fleetwood or DeVille? Nothing.

I believe the CTS does have 3 suspension tune options, FE1 the softest and somewhat closer to classic Cadillac but more like modern sedan, FE2 which might have the best compromise between performance and comfort and most people could live with, and FE3 which is basically sports car. I'm thinking all CTS-V have FE3. The problem is the average buyer wouldn't necessarily know there are 3 suspension tunes and dealers usually order them loaded so most probably ahve FE2.

CTS-V has the Magnetorheological shocks with driver selectable dampening, not available on any other caddie models.

440Magnum, Have you seen the CTS-V Wagon? Wow, what a ride!

Yes, that is something to seriously get excited over. I actually understand Cadillac's new marketing positioning. They understand that the current and future buyers are baby boomers, who grew up in musclecars and would otherwise be buying the performance versions of Lexus's and Infinities. I think there is much more market potential there than in the codger/blue-hair segment. It is just odd to see the switch.

I was quasi-drooling over the CTS when we bought our '08 TL. The only problem was the GM lineage.

I still can't see why they chose cadillac to bring the performance back with.
As much as I like performance cars (from a distance, too rich for me) I just can't bring myself to like the caddy's.

That would've been an XLR. They look like a Corvette because they basically are one. They were produced in Bowling Green alongside the Corvette, using the Northstar V8 for power. They only produced them during the mid-to-late 2000's, before GM pulled the plug.
