i wonder how many people think to change their cabin air filter?i never thought of it untill a my local mechnic asked me .when i said never he changed the one in my 06 sonata.wow what a difference in air flow and the leaves and dirt in the old one were unbeliveable. the same with my 03 sonata.they sure catch a lot of dirt.

I change mine about every 10,000 miles.
I haven't changed mine in my '06 but I intend to soon. I'd also like to retrofit one into my Jeep XJ, if I can ever find (organize?) the time.

Depends on how dusty it is in your typical driving area. I change mine about every 2 years.
Depends on how dirty and humid it is where you are (and how fast you usually run the fan: more air flow = more dirt; more humid = more mold growth).
I had assumed mine was changed during the major service just before I bought the car at 29k, but when I went to change it 'again' at 70k it was the original. Fairly loaded down, but not clogged, and with slight improvement in flow afterward. But I always run the fan at its lowest setting (to reduce wear on the fan in true BITOGer fashion).

They should be done annually, they get absolutely filthy compared to engine air filters.
The first time I did one I was shocked at how dirty it was. My manual says to change every two years.

usually every year, or when i remember that i have one. the one in the volvo involves sitting with my feet up by the headrest and my head under the dash fiddling with tamper proof torx fittings. the neighbor said that was the most swearing in a car with feet by the headrests not involving sex that he has ever heard.

I didn't even know our '03 impala had one until I checked the owners manual. Black as soot it was. I think I'll price a couple on fleetfilter and change at the beginning of June and check again in fall.

The cabin filters they have are TYC, the filter media is not as good as OEM filter but a lot cheaper.

I could use cheaper ones i guess, but i just bought OEM from trdsparks.com for $18 each and they seem to be good quality. My tundra has a 7-speed blower, so i got to have one that the pleats won't fold over on high.
