So for the last week or so my Accord has been making a buzzing noise. I recently installed a new NAPA PCV valve, and when I pinch the tube going to the PCV valve the noise stops, let go of the tube the noise resumes. The noise is coming from the timing chain area, so i really hope its not that. I ordered a Honda OEM PCV valve from Bernardi Honda so when it comes in I will install it and pray the noise stops. Anyone ever experience this? Does this sound like it could be the timing chain, or is it possible the pcv valve would cause this buzzing noise. Any other symptoms to look for if its chain related? Thanks!

Unfortunately no. Hoping I don't drop this one down there either =P Also hoping the buzzing noise is just the PCV and that the OEM will stop the buzzing.

Did you start it by any chance? It's a Honda after all, maybe the engine is running.

Haha, very funny. Its a noise I've never heard before. Really hoping it's just the pcv valve. I'll update you all once I get the OEM valve installed. Should be this Friday or Saturday.

Buzzing suggests a failed spring. Aftermarket PCV valves don't always have a spring that match OEM perfectly. Other times they can be defective right out of the box.

An OEM valve could buzz, but it would either have to be very old, or defective from the factory. OEM valves are rarely defective.

I hope so! I was listening to the idle after getting home today and it sounds like its coming from around the chain area also, that whole left side of the engine, hard to believe a spring could cause that much noise, but lets hope so!

If it was the timing chaine dont sweat it you would know, same for timing belt ,so its either pvc valve or something related !killer bees in the hose?

Ok! Installed the new HONDA OEM PCV valve and the buzzing seems to be gone, I think. Only listened to the idle while the engine was cold, it was making the noise when it was warmed up, so we will see.
