I bought some walmart only version of the General Exclaim HP (forgot the exact name, but General verify that they are the same compound but different pattern), for an unbelievable price of $49 ea (instead of $79). They arrived as something made from 2 years prior in France. Was thinking about returning it but the deal is too good to pass, so I kept them.
I've had my local Walmart to enforce the tire size rule before until I needed tires for a vehicle that they were out of stock of.
So guess what they installed a size that wasn't on the door jam that worked just fine......depends who's calling the shots that day I suppose. But one thing for sure at Walmart your guaranteed to buy fresh tires. They sell tons and tons of tires

Huh. I never knew they made any Starfires in the USA. The only really low cost tire brand I really knew that built tires in the USA was Douglas.
That was based on comments on reviews for tire. I didn't check manufacturing codes. There were some Cooper press releases when this tire replaced two others but can't remember if plant was mentioned.

these are some great positive responses!! years ago I had a set of Walmart store brand Truck tires and everything went satisfactory then and as most stated getting the free rotations can take some time depending on arrival time as I recall. im feeling more confident now just to order online ship them to my local WM for installation I really don't think you can beat the value they offer when it comes to the price, there may also be a manufacturer rebate or debit card offer too, applying for a WM credit card and purchasing over $75 online will net you a free $25 credit to it as a bonus. these are great responses thanx

Mirada tires are made by Yokohama in Virginia. They have the same distinctive gray color Yokos have

Same here. They were running $170 off a set of 4 for my wife's 4Runner last year. They were already cheaper before the discount was taken off too. I'm planning on shopping them first when my truck needs tires!

yeah I found out my last Tire place >American Tire just torqued all their lugnuts to 90 ft./pds not even caring about the manufactorers torque specs. they also started to refuse to rotate my tires because they felt they were too worn and said it would cause a safety hazard to do so, on both my car and my truck.
seems like their service has also lost a lot of its glitter they once had, turn over of Techs and Sales/service people seems to be a result of not retaining quality workers probably came down to hourly wages.
Walmart is great for tires!
Besides the good price and easy ordering, they are good because they don't zip it down with an air gun like most places do!

I have a Tacoma 4x4 truck and was seriously considering the MICHELINS but im having issues with the alignment cams and bent tabs due to frozen cam bolts and really don't have the funds or know how to do a replacement on the LCAs right now, im just going to get the stock Dunlop AT20 or Grabber HTS60 in p 245/75/16 because of the alignment issue, im not going to invest in premier truck tires if my truck cant get aligned to the tee.

I just bought tires there today. Goodyear Assurance Outlast w/ 80K treadwear warranty. On sale for $98 each, and they were having a promotion where mounting and lifetime balance were free. With road hazard, tax and disposal they came in just under $470. I normally don't like buying tires at WM just because they are always so backed up, but I made an exception because of price in this case.
I have purchased 7 complete sets of tires from Walmart including Michelin, Continental, Yokohama and General. I have have had them all Mounted at the same Walmart and have never been happier. Other family menbers have also had excellent results from Walmart tire purchases. Ed
Wearever brand is the Advanced Auto brand. The lowest end ones are organic only no ceramic and tend to be very dirty and wear out quickly. How in your case on drum they are contained and drums usually last a long times anyways.
I just did a check on Rockauto.com and they have many options for your car so you might look there too.

Hard to beat on price. Costco is also pretty low. But check with local tire dealer. Some will match pricing.
Problem with Walmart is if the tech is properly trained and supervised.

I thought so too. I asked yesterday at local Walmart (for the first time), if they will install 205/55/16 on 195/55/16, they agreed citing not much of a difference between the two.
Just dont vary from their policy.. if the size isnt on the door jam they wont install it.
