You could try just adding a can of Liqui moly motor oil saver to your current oil (I got it from NAPA in the past) and see if that changes the consumption. You've some trial & error ahead of you to find what works. From what you're telling us, I wouldnt be putting anything thinner than 10W40 in it, might have to step up to 20W50.
