Sitting in the Rising Sun MD. shopping center. Jogger is suiting up to jog around the huge parking lot.

Suiting up with a bulletproof vest.
I tell him a 95 year old woman can sit on a wheelchair here for days and she wouldn't get nothing but help.

@walterjay. Could attest to that.
He looks at me confused...just happened now.

Not sure I fully understood your post, but back when I was younger I would exercise outdoors with my plates on too.
It's the best way to check the fit of your plate carrier and to train as you fight.

I moved away from body armor since then for Philosophy of use (and age) reasons.

At my current "fitness" level I would probably tear out the tendons in my elbows attempting all those pullups.
In recent years whenever I start working pullups seriously I get overuse injuries.
Age I guess, so I just do what my body still can.. and that is ruckmarching, medium freeweights, and light runs.

I have no cartilage left in my left shoulder, so my CrossFit days are over. I'll cycle and strangely enough, can still do pushups. But pullups are extremely painful.

Weight training is on machines, no free weights as I cannot predict when the shoulder would give out due to excruciating pain.

Makes no sense....if you feel your lifes in danger being there.....find somewhere else to go jogging.
Does it make sense to think that there's someplace safe?

In real estate, we're trained to make sure we never use the safe word. Try asking that at the next open house you go to, is this place safe? That's like trying to predict the future.

I had a weighted vest (90lbs) that I'd speed walk with, but I live in the country. I worked with a couple guys who ran in their vests, but it sounds like this guy was actually worried about being shot? Sure he wasn't in LE?

This thread inspired me to go out for a serious ruckmarch just now.
45 lbs, no shade in middle of day.
went for exactly one full hour at good speed.
Wore my old army combat boots and my boot socks.

I needed this.

When you take them off when you're done, doesn't it feel so weird? Like you just grew a couple inches?

Things are safe until they're not.

As the saying goes, past performance is no guarantee of future results. Bad guys have cars too and can just drive to whatever neighborhood they want to target.
Yes, and which neighborhoods did they target last year.... And why not other neighborhoods last year? If nothing changes in those neighborhoods then probably crime will be around the same next year... Yes anything could happen, but there's reasons why data is collected, and its usually wise to know the odds and bet with them if you can.

I can see why you dodge the whole issue, in some markets you are dealing with the 1/3lb burger is smaller than a 1/4lb burger crowd... https://awrestaurants.com/blog/aw-third-pound-burger-fractions
