Sorry about getting old and crippled. I will not mind getting old myself, just dont want to get crippled. When you cannot change your own oil, I would say you have to trust somebody to do it. And if the price of 19.99 with tire rotation is good in your area, go for it. That way you can change it regularly. Regularly being every 3-5k miles. And your tires will wear well with frequent rotation. When I get old and I find those prices, I will use that service. Good luck and I hope you feel well.
Yes and yes. Personally I've never seen a technical data sheet that showed differences for the "same" bulk and bottled oil. What would be the point? If additive packages in the oil settled out relatively quickly, that could make the top half of a stored 55 gallon drum of motor oil slightly different from the bottom half, but evidence I've read on boards suggest that isn't a problem at all (on another board a guy analyzed samples from shaken and unshaken vintage cans of oil and found little difference between them). Since the 1966 Chrysler Imperial required 4K mile changes on Goober oil, I tend to laugh anytime someone talks about a 2012 "need" for 3K changes. The shops that use the bulk oil drums can empty them in a day. Turnover is fast so there's no time for settling. There have been documented cases with oil settling though. On this site with pictures. So oil can settle in any container if it sits long enough. Why I always shake my oil.
