Buick LaCrosse 3.6L VVT filter?

The ADBV is always on the inlet end, its rubber (or similar material) that covers the outer inlet holes. It allows oil to enter filter but the oil pushing back against it seals the inlets holes and stops most from escaping.

This is what you are referring to? Not the Bypass Valve?

btw-GM engines incorporate a bypass valve into the filter base, so its not needed in a filter but will not harm anything if it does have one.
 
Yup, the PF61 doesn't have an ADBV.. I need to get a digital camera so I can post pics.

This is the very reason I picked up the PF61. I looked at the P1, the M1, and the K&N.. all about 1/2" shorter than the PF61, AND, they all had ADBV's. I'm thinkin' I'm going to run the PF61's on my new Envoy.
