Really. REALLY. So apparently people who like craft beers and hate the [censored] water known as budweiser are hipsters, and worthy of scorn now. Thanks Budweiser, as if I needed one more reason to hate you and not drink your pathetic excuse for beer.
And once upon a time they drove Peugeots.

Drinkers of craft beers have taste, bud drinkers do not. Hipsters on the other hand have no taste, their obsession with PBR and everything ironic is proof enough.
 
American beer gives me headaches. Not just American beer, but all beer sold in America, even imports.

I don't know if the problem is the preservatives we mandate, or pasteurization, or whatever. But what I do know is that I can drink six or eight pints of beer over in the UK and wake up the next morning feeling energetic and refreshed.

In the US, even two beers usually means a hangover.

I guess I should learn how to make my own.
 
I some one hands me a Bud, I will thank him and drink it with gusto. But I won't buy it . I try a local and move on to the next brew. My SIL brews some awesome stuff. I buy beer a 6 pack at at a time, and hardly the same one twice.

When you are done with a tour of Cooperstown. Visit Ommegang. They are owned by a Belgian Co. but are still brewing as they always did. Great stuff. Also Yeungleng brews a darn OK beer, I can now get it locally.

I'm not a beer drinker. At all.

That said, it's interesting that so many different people can see the same commercial and think such different things.

I'll compare what I saw in the ad with music. Some people enjoy critical listening. They use expensive, detailed equipment and concentrate on what they are hearing. Other people like to hook up their giant JBL block-rockers from back in the day and turn up AC/DC until it hurts.

What I saw was Budweiser saying that it's ok to listen to AC/DC really loud and if critical listeners want to look down their nose, they can stick it. There is no wrong way to listen to music.

And I really like the term "golden suds".
 
Just like most things in life, if you like it, then good for you! I don't like Bud. I think it is horrible tasting stuff but if that is a friends favorite beer then I will make sure there is some in the cooler when he comes over for a BBQ. It does surprise me that Bud is as popular as it is and makes me wonder if those people have just never tasted any other beers.

FYI beer contains no preservatives (other than the alcohol itself and the hop oils which are in all of 'em) and is not pasteurized (it is of course boiled in the brewing process but there's no pasteurizing process per se, no matter where it was brewed). Certainly nothing unique to the US market. So that leaves "or whatever" which I'll suggest in is your head

No, Natural Light is made by the same company they're two different beers though. Not everyone is a hippie or beer snob that drinks craft beers but that's the crowd that hangs out at our local micro brewery. So I could go there and pay $6 a glass for beer I don't really care for and be around people I don't fit in with. Or I could pay $14 for a 30 pack of Natural Light and drink it with my friends at a bon fire party. I choose option two.
Saving money and being around people I like makes me naive, huh? Sounds like you need to realize not everyone in the world agrees with you. I know that's going to be shocking but it is true. You can't go getting hurt feelings every time it happens.

Your beer cost model doesn't add up. If you're drinking at the house a 12 pack of Sierra Nevada Torpedo is $14ish. The same amount of alcohol as a case of Natty. 10000 times more taste. If you just want to get drunk just buy a handle of cheap vodka and save.

It's cheap. I like it. I can get 30 to share with friends. I haven't liked any of the craft beers I've tried. So why spend more for something I don't like? It adds up to me.

Obviously it's in my head, because it gives me headaches. I can assure you that it is not imagined.

It may have something to do with delivery and whatever differences that entails, as over in the UK it's put in your glass via a hand pump, rather than a pressurized tap like here in the US.

I see it all the time in stores but I never buy it for some reason. Middle Ages brewery is right in the city and they have some good products. Syracuse Pale Ale is great!

It's strong! If you want to try them, Wegmans has the best prices. I like all of Ommegang's brews, so I usually get a few of each.
 
I love craft beer. I like tasting them and looking for different nuances, aromas, etc (even though I'm a total amateur and don't exactly have a refined palate). That being said, I also like Budweiser. Sometimes I just want a nice, light Bud and not care about the taste. I mean, I do like the taste, it's just not as flavorful and complex as a craft beer. I went to St Louis about two years ago and toured the Anheuser Busch brewery. It was a lot of fun and I would go again.
