As I arise to go shopping this morning, it is [censored] -16F with a -33F wind chill. Why do I live in Wisconsin is a question I ask myself often. High today will be -5F. Other folks in the north, what is the temp this morning where you're at?

I can year the late John Facenda's voice now... " THE FROZEN TUNDRA". [censored] juck tomorrow, see you in Phoenix! It'll be a balmy 15 degrees here tomorrow for San Diego.

We had a slush/rainstorm yesterday morning and a nice day to clear it out.

Overnight low of 17'F... eh... but the slush cemented up aggresively.

Sets us up for -20'F to -10'F overnights coming our way... from Wisconsin, no doubt.

If it makes you feel any better, its ugly even in sunny Florida, its cold like 60 and rainy and gloomy, which is rare. It really is always sunny down here and only rains a hour and gets humid and sunny again. Its been [censored] for three days.

My Dad's side of the family is from Green Bay. I LOVE Wisconsin, even in the winter. Great ice fishing, snow mobiling, and summer kicks butt in the north country.

Once it gets to about -5F, anything colder feels the same to me. Just freakin COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD. Maybe get a very very small wood or pellet stove for your coat? Chimney pipe stickin out and all!

I too saw temps right around -16F when I finally dragged my butt out of bed this morning around 9:00 AM. As of right now (1:11 PM) it's -6F with a forecast high of 2F.

I'm in Chicago for the weekend, and it isn't much better here. Right around 0F with a wind chill well below zero. Hard to believe it was like 65F just a couple weeks ago!

Like they say, if you don't like the weather in Chicago, wait 5 minutes.

It was 83 degrees today here in south FL.

I wish we got some cold air during the winter time.

Sounds like a lot of temperature extremes going on right now. I would kill for 84 degrees right now. When I get older and retire, I swear there will be no more hard winters for me. Cuts into everything when it is so cold. Can't work on the cars, use the ATV, fish, etc. When its under about 15 degrees outside, ice fishing is miserable and so is riding my four wheeler, even with a windshield on it. :2cents:

I have sworn an oath not to complain about cold weather this winter. After the 3+ straight weeks we had in August of at least 100°F temps, winter couldn't come soon enough for me. I like warm weather, but those 100° days just about did me in. Somebody hand me another winter ale....

you can always dress for cold. Can't undress for warmth. :D

I don't mind the cold, just what it does to machinery. Frozen pipes in the house in particular.

Have most stuff engineered to a higher level in the perimeter around me. BITOG keeps my car in the 90th percentile.

A long time ago I blew a starter in a mazda 323 turning over nasty bulk 10w-something oil at a mere -7'F. When I started paying attention to such things.

Hey we're not much warmer. 12 degrees tonight. Plus our houses are not designed to this type of cold. My heat pump runs continuously with this cold weather. I've been running the propane fire place most of the night to give the heat pump a break.

Wonder what the electric bill will be this month?

The nice thing it's been sunny here - not so bad during the day. But nothing to trap the little heat in.

Last night was about 21°F, now it's clear and 30°F. Daylight is slowly getting longer - yay!!

what's that ?

A week's worth of clouds here.

At least the grass was too wet to mow...and the lack of sun has meant moderate growth.

The remains of cyclone Funa have just passed over NZ....not even enough rain to settle the dust. It's very dry for this time of the year here, our normally green grass cracks as you walk over it.The farmers are bailing hay - and cutting them open 3 days later and feeding to stock....this is their winter feed.

We are getting up to 30C in my town - that may not sound like much, but it's a humid heat and you sweat just to move.

I have concluded that I only have half a life while living in the Chicago area.
Because of the cold, there are SO many things I can not do, and the white fecal matter from the sky causes a lot of grief.
