LOL, you guys don't have poisonous spiders...

At least not the size of dinner plates!
And, those would actually be the SMALLEST spiders in Australia!

I'm not adverse to fighting bugs myself when needed, but sometimes there are circumstances where I would hire professional. This would be one of them. Imagine driving along sometime and having one or more of these crawl up your leg or arm?

No, thanks.

Maybe not giant funnel web spiders but we got poisonous spiders.
During the summer, I can go out and kill at least 3 every night.

LOL, we've got redbacks everywhere...remember my trailer hitch thread ?

4 Americans a year die of spider bites...none from the black widow.

I've been bitten twice by redbacks...only small ones, once on the arm, once on the neck. Once on the throat by a "money" or jumping spider, and a few others. Scariest was my daughter getting bitten by a white-tail that got in her clothes.

They can and do this...like your recluses, but these love to live in houses in general, and in kids "floordrobes" in particular.

When it blistered up, we treated it with tea tree oil and manuka honey.

Mercedes used horse hair for their seat cushions until the 1990s, it might not be true today but some insects are drawn to that smell, like moths to wool.

I wouldn't use bug bombs unless the MSDS/SDS states that it's not formulated with aggressive solvents to keep the insecticidal ingredients in suspension. You have old plastics in that car. Bug bombs also leave behind residue as well that needs to be cleaned off.

I'd ask a local fumigator to see if the car can be tented and gassed with Vikane or phosphine gas. Expensive but it be better for the car(and you).

we find brown recluse here occasionally.
worst car pests we get are mice and wasps.
was helping a friend on a head replacement on an accord.
i dropped the hood to close it and his red cars mirrors suddenly turned yellow.
hundreds of european paper wasps.
had a big fat wolf spider in mine last week.
i left her alone as they are harmless.

Thanks for the replies. I set the glue traps out tonight and I'm going to give the mint oil a try. Good point in the old plastic plus bug bomb hydrocarbons. Another reason to avoid them. Tenting will be plan B.
