I will take one also.

It's great to see old cars, but I was really referring to late model cars. I don't remember brown even being offered on any cars I bought in the last 20 years. Ford offered a burgundy color on the Sable in the early 00's that was brownish but that's as close as I recall. It seems kind of abrupt to suddenly be seeing all these new brown cars.

Not my favorite, but I don't mind what other people buy. Just curious as to (what appears to me) to be a sudden surge in brown cars. I remember when every single car ad seemed to feature a silver car and suddenly every other car on the road was some shade of silver. In this case, I don't remember the advertising flood of brown cars. Maybe I'm oblivious.

Our 2002 Saab 9-5 Linear wagon's Hazelnut was and remains the BEST brown paint ever mixed.
However, dparm's Porsche and rooflessVW's ZX are LOVELY hues.

The Saab is living out its years in northern New York State.
The color softens the impact of the rust.

You guys remind me of a funny story. My best friend and i each owned very similar VW GTi's as the one's below. I, the goldish/green one and he had the silver. His sister didn't know i just bought mine and we showed up at his mom's house in mine. When she opened the door, all she could say was "[censored] did you do Mario?! Why did you paint your car that hideous baby-doodoo-yellow?! I said... "um, that's my car". LOL

I was unsure about buying a brown car at first, but it has become one of my favorite colors that Ford has right now.

I haven't seen any newer brown cars in person. I think it's a great color though and would like to see more of them. Apparently BMW offers a brown color that looks fantastic

The only way to improve on metallic brown, is to add some avocado green accents!!!!! AND, of course, some MUSTARD colored pinstripes.

So I spent 2 summers in the wholesale appliance distribution racket. Appliances came in brown also (coffee) and as mentioned avocado. Not big sellers IIRC.

Ah, the 70s, when appliances rarely came in white. It was usually 'Harvest Gold,' 'Chocolate Brown,' or 'Avocado.' Frigidaire also offered 'Poppy' which was a very deep red. I still own a Frigidaire range and fridge in Poppy which my parents bought in the 70s. Its still in their house, which I now lease out, and still running (if only GM's car divisions had built their stuff half as well as the Frigidaire division did...). The dark red goes very well with the house, which is stone inside and out with dark pine and wood trim, nothing "conventional" works in it.

I beg to differ on the sales, though- Avocado and Harvest Gold easily outsold white for a time. Poppy was pretty rare, I've only seen it once other than my folks' stuff, and that was on a 1940s era Chambers gas range.

Brown (and tan) reminds me too much of the junkers manufactured in the 1970's.

I do notice that there are a few new cars on the road these days with a shade of blue that was popular in the 1960's. I was a little bit (just a little bit!) more fond of cars made in the 1960's.

My first car, the 4-door '75 Maverick, was exactly that color. I've seen something like it on the late model Mustangs, too.

Buick has a dark dark brown, Mocha Metallic I think it's called, that they offer on the Verano. In dim light it looks black! You have to get it out in the sunlight to be sure it's brown. Very elegant, especially with a tan interior.

The old Sepang Bronze from the E60 M5 was absurdly beautiful:

I had a harvest gold Speed Queen washer. That thing ran forever. Left it when I sold the house in Richmond, VA.
