Just installed 4 bridgestone Duellar H/L 422 on my 2010 AWD Mountaineer. All reports rated this tire as good, equivalent to Michelin and noise rated low. Only have about 300-440 miles but they are the most noisy tires I have ever owned. Too early to test for winter driving so hope noise is the only negative for this tire. Only 64,000 mile before I can change!

Don't know if the tires are defective, but when I bought new goodyear tripletreds for my car I thought it sounded really loud, and I thought it was because the tires were new or it had more agressive tread than o/e tires, so I kept driving it for about 5k miles and the noise didn't go away, I had it checked out and it turns out to be a bad wheel bearing. After getting the bearing replaced it was much quieter. I'm not saying you have a bad bearing, it could be something else, but I would get it checked out to see if it's normal, or if there's something defective with the tires or something else like balancing problem.

Thanks for the comments. Actually is a bad wheel bearing. Waiting for it to be repaired then will check tire noise level again.

Seems like he found out they were silent and vehicle specific.

Personally I think this is why many tires get slandered for short life or noise in latter life in reviews. Vehicle issues not tire specific.

Exactly what did the noise sound like?

I'm likely dealing with the same issue on the set of Bridgestone Turanza Serenity tires on my '05 Accord. With only 22k miles on them, I don't remember that much noise in the past two years.
