Heard from friend that they were just rotated for the last time. 22k on them, and they are almost toast. Turns out they did not last much longer than higher performance summer tires.

Add 4 tire to shopping cart from onlinetires.com and select pickup, then print the result and ask America's Tire for price match.

Wait... this works?

Is it because you can pick it up?

Im guessing if this does in fact work. It would work with Discount then too yeah? I always see them marketed together.

Oh i see you guys in CA where the company is.

Still cheaper for the tires im looking at than TireRack.com

O.K. Here's what to do. Call DT direct and get their price, take the Onlinetires,Tire Rack, the Dt Direct prices to your local DT and ask them to price match. Hope this helps.

25k, and my understanding (from what I'm being told by my friend) is that they are completely toast. Backs might still have a little left, but all 4 are due for replacement.

Basically, they lasted no longer than a set of Max Performance Summer Tires.

We just replaced these RE760 Sports this weekend due to a flat. The backs were completely toast, and the fronts had 3/32" left.

The tires had 28k, but could have made it to 30k.

We replaced them with another set of RE760 sports. Also got an alignment this time since the LR tire had some nasty nasty wear. Now that the vehicle is aligned (all of the toe adjustments were far less than ideal), hopefully this set will last even longer.

Also, it turned out that America's tire installed the wrong size last time. They installed 225/45-18 last time when they should have installed 225/40-18. I had noticed a different load index on the new tires during the installation, and that's how I discovered this error. The car rides a lot stiffer on the correct 225/40-18 RE760 sports, LOL.

LOL! I'm not surprised a national chain would goof up like that, but that a car guy like you hasn't noticed it for so long?

This is on the GTI, right?

Well, at least America's tire was consistent. When I ordered 4 tires from TireRack once, one of them came in a different size than the other three.

+1, I'll get at least 50k on my Saab. Probably more... Granted mine are the 960AS pole position.
