Brake Hose fitting comparison (interesting)

I recently purchased several Sunsong brake hoses from RA. One pair with the same part # consisted of hoses maded in two different countries, Thailand and China. They are very similar, but one difference is the bolt on the fitting for the caliper.

As shown in the photo, the bolt is solid on one hose (left), and is "split" on the other (right). Does anyone know if there is some engineering rationale for the bolt which has the split space in the middle?

The one with a groove appears to be for a clip if none is used it can be used. What bothers me is the one on the left doesnt look like the same quality, a single crimp vs the double on the right and the treaded end looks shorter (could be the pic).

It sure does, but I've never seen a clip on the caliper fitting. Hmmm.
