Brake bleed bottle, make one or buy this ?

If you can get some tubing that has a tight fit (like silicone surgical tubing) on the nipple and use some grease to keep air out then you don't really need that. I have a mityvac and I really like that, I'd either go free or spend the 30 bucks.

A clean, old jar and some aquarium air line tubing would work in a pinch, but for that price I'd just get one of those if you don't have the tubing.

, yeah. A feather in a box. Why not. If its junk I'll toss it.

I don't know if it's the same thing, but the one that HF sells has a one-way valve in it, so it's different that just a bottle and some tubing. They look the same: http://www.harborfreight.com/one-man-brake-bleeder-kit-37201.html

The one at HF is made in Taiwan, not China, so it has that going for it...

I've never used one, but I'll admit I've always wondered if they worked. I've always used a Mityvac vacuum pump to bleed and it works fine for me.

You can use windshield fluid hose (or vacuum hose) and a clear plastic cup. I've been using the same hose for years.

Me too.

Besides, that bottle is so small it would be a pain in the derrier to deal with.

That is one heavy plastic cup

I use a 4 oz hot sauce bottle and a piece of vacuum hose I had lying around. When I replaced the rear lines in my 528e, I used 2 of them to get the air out both lines before I hitched them to the brake hoses.

Went down to Walmart to see if that bleed bottle was in stock. It wasn't, have to order it online. Picked up 2 qts of Prestone synthetic dot 3 and left. I couldn't resist trying a turkey baste of the master cylinder. To my surprise just replacing that alone made a difference, the pedal stays higher where before it would slowly sink.

I have a small clear plastic bottle, silicone hose, and the most useful bit is a strong magnet zip tied to the bottle. This allows me to stick the bottle to one of the suspension components and get it out of the way, it lessens the risk of topple and spillage.

Most calipers have 1 bleed screw. Some dual-piston brake calipers like Brembo, ESC, Wilwood have 2 bleed screws.

"7. This is where you could use the assistance of a helper. Have them sit in your driver seat with the engine off. On your command, have them push down on the brake pedal slowly but as forcefully as they can.

8. While they are pushing, slowly open the brake bleeder valve/nipple until your helper notifies you that the pedal is on the floor. At this point, close the valve and tell them to release the pedal. Repeat this process as many times as is needed until no more bubble come out
."

Wrong - the bottle needs to be above the bleed nipple - the air rises and there is no way it can travel back down to the caliper. I like to use these little bottles...they are a bit on the small side, and I don't use their horrible tapered things, and the hoses don't last long. Attach the bottle above the nipple and it does become one man bleeding.

"Could" is used to express possibility. It does not say "You must use the assistance of a helper."

Could used as an example:
I could click on the link on the op's post, and click on picture in my link, that both show "ONE-MAN BRAKE BLEED" bottles.
However, I must click on "Enter an image" to post the pictures.

I thought for it to gravity feed (one-man), it had to be below the bleeder valve. And once the bottle hose hose was primed, there would be no air, the brake line is always full. ?????
