Why test for Silver,Titanium ,& Vanadium but not for Moly?

I would have liked to seen a zero for the moly number if it had none.Other zeros were given,I just assumed that moly wasn't tested.
What is the use of the sodium?
The rest of the add pack looks average to above average.Like it has been said before,VOA's are good starting points for UOA's.Not much more.
 
It appears they are using some type of sodium in the additive pack much like the Torco 5w-20 does here Brew

That is unless they also make a lead substitute and the oil is contaminated although I would think different blending equipment would be used .

I think if wanting to persue you could call their techline and ask about what your VOA revealed in terms of sodium and see what they say .

What is the price of this oil ? I wonder about it's ability to be an out and out race oil but if the price is right it might make a neat oil that gives performance beyond what the normal OTC dino gives .
 
Some bearing are compounded/alloyed with vanadium and it is just as important as lead reading. Some main bearing are plated with silver to show main bearing wear. Even though we do not see it normaly in UOA of PCMO Vanadium and aluminum are very common now in bearings. Titanium valves and rods are used in high end passenger cars and commercial equipment. It is mostly the valves you are worried about. If you drop a valve in a commerical diesel it could cost $20,000 plus realy easy plus the opertunity cost of not being able to put the gear to work!

The sodium is part of the detergent package! Notice how low the calcium is? This is made up for with sodium. We are seeing more and more formulas add 100-300 PPM of sodium.
