BP To Divest Wind Unit In Effort To Enhance Competitiveness

So let’s take a look at what’s happening tonight in the Province of Alberta. MC is maximum capacity. TNG is total net generation in MW. Less than 10% of the windmills are turning. How can you build capacity like that and have them idle much of the time.

BP pulling out dispels the rumour that oil companies would become green energy companies.

I’ve mentioned before that Alberta is completely off coal, but relying on natural gas to do the heavy lifting.

On the other hand, when the wind cranks up, things change. Seven hours later and it’s producing 20% of Alberta’s electricity. :D

Yesterday the market price hit the max of $999.99/MWh due to their being no wind and gas capacity being offline for maintenance. It's a clown show.
