Bought Pennzoil Ultra SM by mistake

Thanks guys. I appreciate the help and advice. Too bad Pennzoil discontinued the Ultra SN. Maybe by the time I run out, they will bring it back.

Ultra SN was not discontinued, it replaced Ultra SM.
 
I think the oil will be perfectly fine for standard use. I would confidently use it for a 7500 to 10k mile oil change and not lose any sleep. Personally I would sleep better than if I had put in the extremely expensive newer version of PUP due to saving money.

Ultra SN was not discontinued, it replaced Ultra SM.


I think Pennzoil Ultra (the line above Platinum..I assume it was SN because I still have some) was discontinued (I can't find i anymore) and then Pennzoil came out with the new Ultra made from natural gas.

Ultra SN was natural gas based, the SM version was not. Ultra SN was replaced with Ultra Platinum SN, which is also natural gas based, but seems to be somewhat inferior to Ultra SN if Noack volatility is a guide.
