So oddly I get a huge box left silently by the front porch when I was inside briefly.

On a Sunday. Cannondale put my address on it, not the shop. Ugg. Shop is in Burlington/Mt Vernon.

I will wait to hear from them. Hahahhahaha

I started assembling the bike. I have not notified Cannondale that it arrived here rather than Skagit Cycle. I will let them figure it out. They are that lame. See below.

I started assembling the ebike and it's definitely box marked and in pieces for a bike shop. No pedals included (mountain bikes, shops add pedals of your choice). Home delivered unit has more assembly completed and includes even tools.

One thing I don't have is the specialized tool for attaching the brake disc hub flange screw. I ordered on Amazon, $10. I have a lot of hub and BB tools but not this one, so I don't mind buying it.

BUT here is the pisser, Cannondale conglomerate double charged me, well overcharged me. Idiots!! And getting through to them is not simple. Lousy experience right there! I wish REI had it to sell at the $5K sale price!!

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your patience with this issue while we work to resolve it. Your refund for the $1900.00 is on it's way, this was a mistake in our system and we apologize for the confusion. I've checked with our transportation team and this bike should have been delivered to Skagit's directly and not your residence. All of our orders come with free assembly, this is why we have it delivered to dealers. Skagit's will still be able to provide a full build for this bike ASAP if you bring it in.

Again, we apologize for the trouble caused by these issues, I will be updating you on the process of your refund when I hear more information. This will not take long. As compensation for this, I'd like to set you up with some gear for your new bike? Perhaps a helmet, floor pump, and some bottles? I am open to other options similar to these items such as saddle bags or multi tools, please let me know what works best for you and I can get an order sent to your address.

Buys 5500 e-bike...has harbor freight generator
Hhahahahahaha it gets worse. I have two $5000 bikes and two HF gens! Seriously that 1400 was near free and is kinda worthless even 1000 watts is a real struggle. Charging the phone when all the UPS's are done. The 8500 OTOH is a quiet beast, well worth the money.

Which seems like everyone's hang up!

At least they are offering something for your trouble. Bike looks awesome.

Steve,

Well thanks first for getting back to me right away. After calling again and getting the message machine my lack of enthusiasm for Cannondale was set back further.

First of all Skagit Cycle is over 50 miles from my house, trying to get the box in a car, then drive down, leave it and come back home, then go pick it up round trip in ~10 days just wasn't something I could put up with. I built the bike myself. I've build e-bikes before and to be 100% honest, I founded and ran a small company selling Cyclone Taiwan mid motor e-kits and jackshaft kits for gas motors as well for 15 years. We closed down last year, retired. (sickbikeparts.com)

That said, the box was in good shape, parts all there, sans the pedals, assembly was easy. No problems. Toughest part was the dropper post by myself, always like a three handed job. The only special tool was the front disc brake hub. (Park BBY59.2 as I recall). I charged it to 95% or so and then unplugged it. Electrics seem operational.

Waiting for my pedals I ordered online, but half tempted to remove my Stumpjumper (carbon, custom build) pedals or buy some locally in Bellingham.

I have some questions.

1) How do I lock out the rear shock? Front too? Maybe I'm spoiled by my Foxx shocks. Or at least make it much firmer? The Rockshox included papers are not specific. Their site not much help.

2) There are electric cables for front and rear lights. Where do these plug in? The front runs out from the frame, makes sense it plugs into a light(?) The extra cable?

3) I looked around the Cannondale site for a very specific 2023 Moterra Neo 3 owners manual. I didn't see it.

I think that's it for questions.

Do you have fenders for this bike? That would be an awesome comp.

Thanks,

Paul"

It would be interesting for you to try a bike like Pablo''s on some single track trails. The off road performance is what the cost difference pays for. His bike is probably ~$3k with no motor at all. So if you don't have the skills or inclination to go ride mountain bike trails with some pace, it is a bit of a waste to get one built for that.
Your bike is maybe even a better bike for exploring on back roads and easy trails, but isn't the right bike for Pablo's riding.
