I've got one of those. It's a very beefy, well made jack. And Costco's return policy is iron-clad.

Sure, it is heavy, but the ones that I've seen do not feel as solid as the nicer jacks, and are very squeaky. But for the money, it cannot be beat.

So far, I think this jack feels more solid than the Arcan XL35R from costco only because the pumping action feels more solid. However, it does not feel as high quality as my Hein Warner jack. Looking back, I don't know if it was really worth $250...
So how well does the AFF jack control lowering? Stopped by our local Discount Tires today and saw all the AFF jacks ... their techs seem to like how they perform. I did buy the 3.25 Ton Arcan from Costco, but looking for a second jack.

I would say that it is not drastically better than the Costco one, at least not worth 2.5x the price. I still prefer the Hein Warner 2 ton model that I purchased, several years ago.

You can "Google" American made whatever and find it. There were some American manufacturers mentioned earlier, also check with www.asedeals.com they carry a few different makes of American made jacks.

I admire your convictions; I do the same.
