BAND-AID BEIGE!
I'm buying my daughter a Bimmer for her first car! A clapped-out E46 will have plenty of lessons to teach.I commend you for not buying your teenager a BMW for his first car. This is a perfect car for the duty it's going to see.
You must be a mechanic, and a glutton for punishmentI'm buying my daughter a Bimmer for her first car! A clapped-out E46 will have plenty of lessons to teach.
Correct on both counts sirYou must be a mechanic, and a glutton for punishment![]()
My first 97’ Camry was Band-Aid beige! Only pic I have on my phone of it.BAND-AID BEIGE!
I'm sorry. Nine dollars???You can get some Gabriel front struts on RockAuto for $9 each. I have some for my Camry I haven’t put on yet.
Yeah, looks like it's on closeout, only a 30 day warranty but normally lifetime. But the quick struts at $60-$80 is a probably a better deal, after that kind of mileage in the northeast, the springs are probably shot anyway.I'm sorry. Nine dollars???
Of course, only the best for my Camry!I'm sorry. Nine dollars???
I got some $39 FCS quick-struts for my Camry a year ago, have only had them on for a month but so far so good. The rears sag a lot on these cars so this gave me 3/4" lift so it's a good height.Yeah those gabby struts are on the way, along with some generic 5/16 metal line to redo the fuel system. Plan is to get it inspectable then to make it lovely.
Still looking for cheap rear struts-- have had bad luck with ebay specials. Shocking! But I'll do the fronts and see where it's at.
This is my 3rd beige camry of this body style. First was a flop, second was a V6 win. link
And mine has a 5 speed manual. The zenith of Toyota build quality, in my mind. Japanese built, no rust, feel the pile-depth of the carpets... etc...I'd congratulate you, but... I own one. Just like it.
Every kid should feel humiliated by their first car. My son drives Grandma's old Buick which is not-so-lovingly known as Mildred (the car, not Grandma). Personally, I wish Mildred had less get up and go than she does with the 3.8l V6.
'Cause in my experience, every teenager can use a good dose of humility. Why?
Any car is a good first car because they're happy to have a car![]()
