Question for you guys. I definitely want it to be louder/ have a growl. Is it worth putting dual exhaust on or should I just put a muffler on it? Would dual exhaust help performance at all?

I wouldn't. I think they sound perfect stock.

How far do you plan to drive it? Like on any long distance trips. Around town it's probably all sorts of fun to "get loud" but I'd think after 20 sustained minutes on the highway the tune might change.

Stay away from Flowmaster … obnoxious and highway drone city. Go talk to a veteran guy at a muffler shop and tell him what you have in mind … they tend to know after installation of dozens and dozens …
There are internet sound clips too …

I'm not a noise guy but for less restrictive flow … I have put in the largest bore that will fit in the space muffler on back …

Oh yeah?

Yeah.

Model: 2015 Ford Mustang
Horsepower: 300 hp
MPG: Up to 19 city / 28 highway
Curb weight: 3,469 to 3,526 lbs
Engine: 3.7 L V6
Torque: 280 lb-ft

Model: 2006 Ford Mustang
Horsepower: 210 hp
MPG: Up to 19 city / 28 highway
Curb weight: 3,351 to 3,476 lbs
Engine: 4.0 L V6

90 more HP for the win

"InsideLine.com measured a 2011 V-6 coupe with a manual gearbox running from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 5.6 seconds. It also raced through the quarter mile in 13.9 seconds at 101.2 m.p.h. While short of the performance of last year's Mustang GT (13.5 seconds at 102.9 m.p.h.) that car's V-8 had 315 horsepower and was rated at 24 m.p.g. on the highway.

So being thrifty no longer means having to give up fun to drive. This 2011 V6 Mustang is simply the best 6-cylinder Mustang ever."

4.0 is a superior engine.

OP paid peanuts for a super clean car with no glaring mechanical engineering fails. That's a win in my book.

Honestly, I'd leave it alone. I think it would lose a lot of class with a muffler/cbe.

It seems difficult to make most V-6 engines sound good with aftermarket exhaust. A lot of the time they seem to have a nice sound at idle but sound pretty terrible at higher RPM. I'd leave the stock exhaust if it were me.

Agreed. Even my 370Z only sounded mediocre.

If you do end up doing a muffler swap, I'd highly suggest using a Cherry Bomb Vortex. They are incredible and cheap. cut and clamp.

I never disputed that. I disputed the fact that someone claimed the 4.0 V6 Mustang was the best V6 Mustang ever. Which, at 210hp, simply cannot be true.

Well, no, I stomped on one hardcore in my CX5 back when I had a 2015 CX5, lol! (granted it was an auto, with 2 people in it, and a ragtop, and had some terrible muffler on it droning away). it was hilarious though. Mustang kept losing by a car or two to an NA 4 cylinder SUV.

That's a first - calling the Ford 4.0 SOHC a superior engine. It was a boat anchor and had a lot of quirks especially with the timing components. (I owned a 2000 Explorer with it.) The 3.5/3.7 is superior in every way.

I have to agree. I worked at Ford when these were still sort of new and we were always doing timing chain tensioners. The older ohv versions liked to crack heads like the 2.9 that they replaced.
The 3.5 is great other than the internal water pump design.

However, I think the later ones may have fixed the timing chain issues and are otherwise a reliable engine.

The 4.0 is much better than the Ford 3.8 that came in earlier v6 mustangs though.
Looks like a nice car ðŸ‘
I'd say leave the exhaust alone and definitely change the transmission fluid. So cheap to do compared to an automatic. If you end up with notchiness try a different fluid.
