Bought a brand new Tahoe

They've already cracked the '22 & '23 Global B E90 controllers, GM ECM's have been write only since 2017 which requires a database of stock files. It takes time.

HP-Tuners has more on the line to crack these modules than GM has to stop them.

Congrats (late to the party)! I hope to make a similar post maybe in 2027 lol (sooner if there were an announcement that V8's are discontinued). I don't think any vehicle can beat the cargo room of this generation. The way I see it is current Tahoe has the same cargo as previous Suburban :giggle:

While at a dentist appointment, I took a close look at someone's new Tahoe and was impressed by its appearance. I wanted to see the engine bay, hoping it wasn't as cramped as the Ford truck's, where the engine looks shoehorned in. 🤔

That was my finding as well. I’d like to get one for the new AT4 we got but haven’t found anything yet. You doing an early oil change on it?
I figured on doing that after the base warranty if they have one out long enough and the bugs out for the L84 …
Our L83 runs better with a Range …

Funny I posted on this thread on 8/21/24 that we hope to get one by 2027. We got one a week ago Friday, ordered on 5/31/25. We didn’t have a choice as our Enclave was a total loss in May. Maybe with tariffs etc we’re best off with a ‘25.

I was checking the ride height this AM. First is max, second is normal. Finally disabled the lowering upon exit. That was confusing us as we thought the truck was raising when backing up to the stone part of our driveway. It was, but only because it had lowered to let people out. Giving it its first wash by hand today, I crawled under. Looks like an easy oil change as filter is vertical and plug right there. Saw lots of interesting things like really flat pipe from driver CAT essentially Y’ing to right, air tank, strange plastic module attached to rear caliper, hvac lines are not near road like on the Enclave, all new and fascinating to me…

Edit p.s. looks like oil can be changed without even jacking the vehicle, that’s a first! 😆

Gorgeous - and yes - Tahoe/Yukon has had the drain plug and filter in a thoughtful spot for years …

Nice, love that color. Burned the absolute crap out of my arm on that pre-cat or whatever it is when changing the oil. Engine was nice and hot, dripping a/c condesate on my forearm. I heard a sizzle and it took me a second or two to realize that was my skin boiling. Two months later and still have a nice silver dollar sized scar.

Thanks, we’ve finally joined the club! 😊
OMT - have a look - but I find that drain plug location well protected - and have a Fumoto on both of my Tahoe’s - nothing else … When I leave a filter for next time - 10 minutes - no ramps …

I have changed oil cold for decades - it doesn’t matter …
Go have a coffee - tea - Corona - it’ll drain fine …

This wasn’t a “hot drains better situation”, just a “change the oil before a road trip tomorrow morning” situation. Changed it cold last weekend and that’s good enough for me, and no burns!

I just got one for my 2022 Silverado 5.3. It's a different type of module and goes on the ECM. Easy install.
Taking that off for any dealer related visits (recalls, etc) every time is a pain-IMHO. I push the start button on my 2023 Silverado-and push the defeat button down-it's automatic now.
