Been shopping around for several months. A lot of Internet research and finally started looking at them on the lots a few weeks ago.
I looked at:
- New Tundra SR5 asking 54k. Loved the turbo motor, transmission was well sorted. Some areas that I thought had poor quality such as switches and console shifter felt cheap. Overall, liked it though. Toyota won't budge much on price. Somewhat concerned about the motor. It seems mostly resolved but there have been a few '25 engine failures reported. Center console seemed poorly designed as far as storage.
- New F150 XLT, stickered for 58k, sale price of 48(plus way too many dealer add ons). Liked the 5.0 quite a bit. 10 speed was decent, felt much better than the 2.7 STX I drove a few months ago. Great screen/camera quality, well thought out center console. A lot of areas that felt cheap to me. Seemed to be missing features I thought it should have.
- '24 Ram 2500 Big Horn with 6.4 10k miles for 44k. Loved the interior, and idea of more capability. Ultimately didn't like no sensors or "extra" features. Laramie was a huge price jump. Also, no way my wife could drive that beast haha. Also, I really don't need the capacity.
- 24 Titan: Drove a Pro4x regular Titan and Titan XD. These trucks are awesome
Great features for the price. I've always thought the XD was my dream truck and I really liked it but not enough to pay an extra 6 to 8,000 over the regular Titan. Plus the XD doesn't have as much towing capacity as you would think for such a beastly truck. Only real dislike was camera quality is on low side.
Ultimately ended up with this 24 Titan pro 4X. Absolutely loaded with every option, 14,000 mi, 52 months of bumper to bumper warranty. Can't say how much I love the truck! Nissan really nailed it with the driving dynamics, interior layout/quality, as well as the features of this bad boy. Picked it up for about $18- 20,000 less than a comparable F-150. Loving the V8 as well. 9-speed transmission shifts very well. I'm not one who would add a lift of any kind and if it was any bigger than this I probably would have passed on it but I think it looks good. Also came with a nice aluminum tonneau cover, rubber mats, and nice side steps. Happy camper
