Been shopping around for several months. A lot of Internet research and finally started looking at them on the lots a few weeks ago.

I looked at:

- New Tundra SR5 asking 54k. Loved the turbo motor, transmission was well sorted. Some areas that I thought had poor quality such as switches and console shifter felt cheap. Overall, liked it though. Toyota won't budge much on price. Somewhat concerned about the motor. It seems mostly resolved but there have been a few '25 engine failures reported. Center console seemed poorly designed as far as storage.

- New F150 XLT, stickered for 58k, sale price of 48(plus way too many dealer add ons). Liked the 5.0 quite a bit. 10 speed was decent, felt much better than the 2.7 STX I drove a few months ago. Great screen/camera quality, well thought out center console. A lot of areas that felt cheap to me. Seemed to be missing features I thought it should have.

- '24 Ram 2500 Big Horn with 6.4 10k miles for 44k. Loved the interior, and idea of more capability. Ultimately didn't like no sensors or "extra" features. Laramie was a huge price jump. Also, no way my wife could drive that beast haha. Also, I really don't need the capacity.

- 24 Titan: Drove a Pro4x regular Titan and Titan XD. These trucks are awesome 😎 Great features for the price. I've always thought the XD was my dream truck and I really liked it but not enough to pay an extra 6 to 8,000 over the regular Titan. Plus the XD doesn't have as much towing capacity as you would think for such a beastly truck. Only real dislike was camera quality is on low side.

Ultimately ended up with this 24 Titan pro 4X. Absolutely loaded with every option, 14,000 mi, 52 months of bumper to bumper warranty. Can't say how much I love the truck! Nissan really nailed it with the driving dynamics, interior layout/quality, as well as the features of this bad boy. Picked it up for about $18- 20,000 less than a comparable F-150. Loving the V8 as well. 9-speed transmission shifts very well. I'm not one who would add a lift of any kind and if it was any bigger than this I probably would have passed on it but I think it looks good. Also came with a nice aluminum tonneau cover, rubber mats, and nice side steps. Happy camper 🍻

I like the titan. The interior is delightfully old and simple with lots of buttons and knobs and a sensible layout. I hate so many modern interiors. They look nice in photos but once you have to live with it you're gonna miss that old style interior. The 5.6 is great engine too. How's the Mercedes licensed jatco made 9 speed?

Very much agree, simple yet well designed and good quality. Truthfully the nine speed is great so far only driven about a hundred miles but no hiccups at all, very smooth.

There was some talk about the 9 speed having some issues either going up or going down a grade but that may have been isolated.

Where are my manners. Forgot to say congrats on the new purchase.

Also isn't there some name for that style. I think it's called stormtrooper style or something like that. Looks really good on the titan and new tundra and looks alright on the ram. Didn't really like that black and white look on the Ford and Chevy's I've seen around here. It's like the front end design on the Ford and Chevy just don't really work that well with the black and white look but works great with the titan and tundra.

Do you think the current Nissan situation & current slow economy might have influenced a better price? You were in the $30k range? Doesn't sound too bad for a new truck w/just 14k on it. Looks sharp! Obviously a V8 like you mentioned but let us know your mileage when you can.

Yes that may have helped price, although the Titans have historically been a much better value slightly used than new. Will do on the mpg!

Congrats, I have a 23 P4x and do love my Titan. It’s a surprisingly good long distance vehicle, even for rear seat passengers. My wife spent 8 hours in the back with the dog over Christmas and was very comfortable. Mileage is the weak point, but be happy you didn’t get the XD, it’s even worse; although the extra weight does help ride quality some with just that extra inertia going down the road.

Nice. was it a dealership courtesy vehicle or private sale?

Congrats on the new Titan you will enjoy it. I purchased a 24 Titan pro 4x New with 5 miles about a month and a half ago or two months I absolutely love it same color as yours. if yours has the sunroof make sure you keep the rain gutters
on the sunroof clean otherwise you’ll have an interior leak and also keep an eye on the rear window, driver side upper corner by the seatbelt They tend to leak when it rains hard if yours wasn’t addressed already. Other than those few minor issues, you will love the truck best bang for the buck.

Beautiful color! Yeah the XD just wasn't quite enough of a draw for me. I'll still be using the Corolla mostly for work, so it won't be getting too many miles.

Private sale, kind of interesting it was purchased, put a few grand into it, then traded in.

Thank you for the tips, I will keep that in mind.

Nice truck. I purchased the new Tundra after a 12 year run of new Rams.
Had not really considered Nissan but after seeing yours I should have looked.

Yeah I feel like they're often overlooked, one of the big reasons they're not going to make them anymore. Underdogs indeed
