Made some progress.....

*Mahle rubber over steel intake gaskets
*Cleaned & painted some valve covers.....Reused the gaskets that came with the engine.
*The Distributor was cracked form someone overtightening the cap, Got a Aluminum one from AutoZone.....Swapped the Cam Sensor for the GM one, Installed new Delco Cap & Rotor.
*Delco water pump
*Cleaned the fuel injection spider & installed a new fuel pressure regulator.
*GM thermostat & Housing, The housings on these are usually pitted/rotted so for for $20 it's a no-brainer.

Was the heater hose quick-disconnect already switched over to the standard hose fitting or did you do that?

I did that.....Can't stand that pot-metal quick connect!

When I pulled the intake to do the gaskets and replace the injection assembly, I cleaned and reused the OE disconnect piece. This was almost 20 years ago now and before I had learned all the horror stories of that thing snapping.

Knock on wood it’s still holding up nice and dry to this day.

This one wasn't leaking either, But didn't want to come apart so I just cut the hose off. It broke into pieces trying to remove it.
Had to chisel it one one piece at a time. It did clean-up pretty good with a 1/2" pipe tap.

I rarely work on these anymore, Kinda enjoyable because these, LT1 & Northstar's are about all I worked on when I first started in Cadillac dealerships.

Using a Corvette LT1 gear reduction starter.....Have to use the smaller 153 tooth flexplate. The original 168 tooth was beat up pretty bad & had some cheap Amazon looking starter. With the engine being locked up I bet the starter got real hot when they tried restarting it.

I remember this tool kit being a lifesaver back in the day when people would snap it off trying to remove.

After getting it out one way or the other, most converted to a standard hose fitting like you did.

I grew up with a lot of 90’s GM vehicles so they always have a charm to me.
