They are a completely different construction. It's the same with a German Mann versus a North American Mann. The latter is merely a Purolator Classic clone.

The status of owning a German made filter is worth it alone.

I wish the Germans were making the Manns and Bosch filters for North American and Japanese applications, too, rather than letting Purolator louse them up and charge more for them. The best part is that German made Bosch, Mann, Mahle, and Hengst were under $5 for my Audi. North American equivalents were close to double the price, and even Purolator Classics were always more than that during Puro's ill fated venture into Walmart Canada.

stchman... Don't scare me im in the engine business and if Mercedes and BMW did not break down and blow engines i would lose lots of money..There is always at least one if not two in my shop on a daily basis. Just like Toyota and Honda Mercedes used to be one of the best.... Not even close anymore

You just don't get it do you?

I get that there can't be any status associated with owning an oil filter.

I don't know if that is worse than "just cause" or not.

Bleep, they should be mounted OUTSIDE, right in the middle of the hood. DO they clearcoat the silver paint?

Walmart sells the Bosch Distance filters(~$12 each), I gather those are like Fram Ultras.

Yes, they are the 4 digit filters. So $5 for a Purolator Pure One(or Purolator One) instead of $8 at the auto part stores.

Since they are reboxed Purolator One oil filters, do they suffer from the tearing thing?
They're still beating their wives as well.

which i really odd since they don't normally carry motorcraft filters, just QS, and Fram orange cans.

Ours used to sell Motorcraft filters.
