I just installed a Bosch Oil filter on my 2003 Toyota Camry with the 2.4 engine. I know the filter is small but I was surprised the oil holes in the base were so small. They appear they would not flow much oil.

Are all Bosch filter like that?

Is ther an advantage to having big holes ot oval holes as some filters have?

Amsoil EAO Filters have smaller holes than the old WIX I used to use but have better flow! I think it depends on the media causing a flow restriction and not the holes...

That filter could be made by Bosch, Mann, or Purolator, which is owned jointly by Bosch and Mann.

I don't know, because I buy only Mann filters.

I'm sure the filter that you bought was properly designed for the engine for which you bought it.
