PIAA is what I have used for years.
Yes, you can replace the insert of the beam type wiper. Youtube has some videos how to do it.
Ive done it on the OE ones on my wife's VW. I couldnt see a n easy way to do it on the bosches, especially after a few years of UV.
My PIAA wipers replace in a snap and it is never an issue.

I agree. It's much easier to replace the inserts on the regular blades. The main problem is it's hard to buy inserts for either regular or beam type now a day.
