I changed the oil in my Sonata last weekend. I always have used Hyundai filters and I love them but I paid a little under $5 for them from my dealer now I've moved and the dealer here wanted $9. Thats not too much but it just made me mad that I was being ripped $4 plus the parts counter guy was a jerk. So I went to the auto parts store and saw a Bosch Distance plus. I hadent seen them before but thoght I'd try one. Anyone have any experiance? Seemed to be well built when I looked at it before I put it on.

I am sure the Bosch distance plus filters are good filters, I can't see spending $9 for an oil filter, but that's just me.

+1....an excellent filter but only worth it if your doing long OCI's (10K to 15K).

For shorter OCI's...may I suggest Purolator PureOnes. They cost under $6 and will easily handle 6K to 8K OCI's.

I think that Bosch D+ are very good filters, they are pretty steep in price so I usually will wait until AAP runs a sale that includes that or a Mobil 1 filter. I am feeling one of the good filters is coming next month. LOL Just wait 12 more days. AutoZone has M1 on sale with the filter this month. I am sure Hyundai filters are good but $9 is rough.

I believe the Distance Plus is more in the $12 to $13 range. Much to expensive for shorter OCI's.

What Hyundai dealer did you go to? If it was a **** Hannah dealer, those clowns mark up all their parts. Call another dealer.

What auto parts store did you find the Distance Plus in? I thought only Pep Boys sold them?

I try to buy most of my filters online, sometimes saves the sales tax as well. Some dealers sell online. I guess in Oregon you pay no sales tax anyway.

About some other comments, I am wondering why the hyundai oil filter is THE BEST filter? That's open to opinion, for sure.
