Bosch 3323 on a Nissan Sentra?

Guys,

I have a 2002 1.8L sentra with 93k km, and i will be switching over to synthetic for the first time over the weekend, when i perform the oil change. I will be using Mobil 1 5w30, which some research suggests is the right oil for the car.

I understand that Bosch filters are for European cars, but is that just a marketing gimmick? Can i use the Bosch 3323 on the sentra? I would appreciate any advice you may have.

You can use any brand that is designed for your car. The Bosch is an excellent choice

Bosch oil filters are not limited to European cars. In fact, most of them are built by Purolator right here in the good ole USA.

I would just stick with the manufacturer cross-referenced filter for your engine, the 3300. If you're planning on running an extended oil drain interval and want the added peace of mind regarding capacity limitations you could spend the extra cash for a D3300 (Bosch Distance Plus).

Soobs, i have already placed an order for the filters -- just have to pick them up-- so i will be going with the Bosch 3323 filter. However, i may be using the Distance Plus filter soon in the future.

One of the problems we face up here in Canada is that the price of various things is much higher compared to the US. So if the Distance Plus costs US$15 in the US, it would be upwards of $20 here, which is often very annoying, especially when you can see a cheaper price from a US-based online retailer. If the shipping were cheaper, most of the goods i buy would be coming from the US.

No complaints with the Bosch 3323

Starting using them because I can
go to AutoZone & pick one up and be
out the door < 5 min. It takes forever
to get waited on @ OReilly's to get
a WIX....rant over........jringo

Of course you can use it on your Nissan. I've used one on my Acura and also one on a Daewoo with no issues. In fact I gave one to my girlfriend's brother who owns a Nissan for him to use.

The equivalent Purolator filter is the PureONE PL14610. I use that one on my 2004 Nissan Altima V6. Haven't tried the Bosch 3323 yet, but you can typically get the PureONE for a little cost.
