Hi all. I just changed the oil in wife's Santa Fe. I cut open the Bosch 3312 I took off and it looked fine.....but.....I found a couple of small pieces of filter material (about the size of a Nickle) in the bottom of the can. It was dusk at the time, but I will take pics tomorrow. Very strange, I looked at filter very closely and it all the media is in good shape, no tears. Even at the seam. Maybe when the filter gets cut and crimped, the excess fell in the can? I'm not sure. What if a piece had gotten into my engine? Scary implications.....

Make sure you get the date code in the pictures

I will. I got 4 of these Bosch 3312's on a Rockauto blowout. $2 each. I still have two left. A little scared to use them now.....

bring them back and get a quality Wix if you cant find a Wix look at wal mart the super techs are made by wix some say (i did not see for myself) I am not sure if wal marts all over have the same super techs.. Some might be made by another filter company...Wix in the past have always made good filters.

Bring them back where?? He got them on closeout at Rock Auto. www.rockauto.com if you're unfamiliar.

Throwing out $2 filters vs being nervous about using them seems like a no-brainer.

I'd like to think they were stuck in the filter media for good but who knows. The bypass flow could have picked it up too.

Walmart has Super Tech filters now for just under $3. You won't have any issues with them.

I used to run the 3323 in my Accord, currently on the D+ 3323 but plan on switching to Napa Gold or Wix for the next change. For some reason I always though the Bosch Premium was Filtech, oh well...

True, no tearing. I will use them for a 5,000 mile interval.
