The price of this router at Amazon has oscillated quite a bit over the last 4 years. Image is from camelcamelcamel. Given the current enthusiasm for tariffs, will the price ever drop down to $126 again?

Bosch always seems well put together. I highly doubt you'll see this price again unless a new model comes out and this one goes on clearance.

It will be at almost $200 on Amazon soon enough, it is $220 at the Homeless Despot right now and will undoubtedly go even higher . Sad it is Made in Mexico though.

Yes I think I missed it, it is not they don't trust Amazon it seems there may have been a personal problem. Watch from 8:30.
IMO one reason is they will cut the nuts off HD with more realistic prices.

so is Amazon g2g with tools? Or is it the way of auto parts and you will likely get some VERY convincing knock off?

I've not had any fakes, but not bought much lately.

The only "problem" was with Milwaukee not warranteeing Amazon purchased tools. Doesn't mean they are knock-offs. See above.

That said Amazon doesn't really add any value in that department.

I can't watch the video rn. Thanks for the reply though.

I think Milwaukee is quality, but I'm deep in the Makita battery system. I haven't had any issues so far, but I too haven't bought AZ tools in a long time.

Depends who the seller is. If it’s Amazon, you’re gtg. I have bought a lot of Makita tools on Amazon, and had to warranty one - through Amazon - no problems.

We bought our excellent Makita 18V super lightweight weedwhackage from Amazon. OUTSTANDING. My first return to Makita since 7.2 and 9.6V NiCad from the 1980's! Plus I bought to Waitley batteries, which are decent non-OEM. There is nothing about this whacker that seems suspect.

And after that I bought a hand held router from the Makita guys at a local annual tool expo. (I posted pics here somewhere). Then I bought the plungey base on Amazon (real)

I still don't think this is 100% spot on - nothing is perfect, For one reason, Amazon has no counterfeit control really, and on the other side there are well known tool sellers who aren't selling fakes. That said if Amazon replaces or backs the warranty, maybe OK.

Makita has an Amazon store front. I think Amazon gets Makita tools direct from Makita. Not multiple distributors where fakes could creep in. I think you’re buying from Makita via Amazon.
