Tried to post this under Board info but it does not allow new topics? I see no tech support forum anywhere either to post about board problems so I guess this is the best place.

I have had a real problem lately with posting messages. As soon as what you are typing exceeds the length of the message window it keeps jumping you to the top after every keystroke. It flashes down to where you are when you type a letter but then instantly jumps back to the top. It almost makes you sick as the screen is constantly jumping up and down very rapidly.

If you are replying with a quote it really kills you as your message is already too long for the window. This is very annoying. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

Browser is IE8.

I haven't seen this problem, but will try to duplicate in IE8..

Thanks for the heads-up,

Wayne

I get the same thing once in a great while.

I get something similar when typing on my iphone with ios 4.1 (but has done it since 4.0).

Type in the post box, and when you get to the bottom of the visible area, it just stays in that position, instead of the text area in the box moving down with the cursor.

So effectively it stays up top. Only on the iphone though, never on anything else...

This happens to me every time I go in to edit a post. I have to hope I'm hitting the keys right and then check after I'm done typing by scrolling down with the mouse to check.

IE8 on Windows 7. Spare us the "use CHROME or FIREFOX OMG!111" please.

This 'jumping" was happening to me when I typed a larger paragraph than the window height. If you click on the "down arrow" at the right of the window, it will open the window; multiple clicks will continue to resize the window larger. I dont recall having to do this a few months ago - but it seems to have been this way for at least a couple months.

I had the exact same problem on my Vista using IE, there is a really simple solution, just hit the "Compatibility Mode" (I think that's what it's called), button that is located next to the "Go" button in the browser, the icon looks like a broken page or something. The reply window gets resized and it will scroll down as you type, the browser should also remember this setting, so you only have to do it once.

No problems here with Chrome or Firefox using Win 7, XP pro, XP home and Mint.

My experience exactly. The down arrrow makes it big enough. Sounds like hitting the compatibility view button helps per someone else.

I just switched to the full reply screen to finish this and had the same issue. I hit the Compatibility View button and the window I'm typing in got much wider and as I type this I'm scrolling past the bottom of the typing box and it is working just fine. Must be an IE8 issue?

My experience is just like yours. Drove me nuts one night typing in a used oil analysis. Just happened right now. But clicking on the down arrow solved this problem. Discovered this a couple weeks ago.

Just added BITOG to the compatability view list and clicked add. It works!

Yeah, it does get a little old when you talk of a problem on the internet and you get use FireFox or Safari or etc... I actually LIKE IE and it is what I use.

I just clicked the Compatibility View button and it has resized this reply window. I am sort of rambling here to try and get it to go below the bottom of the window to see what happens...

The jumping has stopped! This seems to have fixed it.
