Not anymore. That picture was here at the dealer, Castrol filling up our bulk tanks. We officially started Feb 1st.We still do not have definite answer on that. BMW still sells SOPUS products.
I have to check our local dealership to see. That picture was here at the dealer, Castrol filling up our bulk tanks. We officially started Feb 1st.
We used to only get bulk 0W20 in our tanks. The 0W30 came in 55 gallon drums. We just got our first shipment of the 0W30 in our bulk tank. That’s what the truck was delivering.I have to check our local dealership to see.
What oil you are getting for N55, B48/58?
0W30? ACEA A3?We used to only get bulk 0W20 in our tanks. The 0W30 came in 55 gallon drums. We just got our first shipment of the 0W30 in our bulk tank. That’s what the truck was delivering.
No idea. Guy just said he was “filling the 0W30”. Although most of the newer B engines use the 0W20. Whatever that is.0W30? ACEA A3?
I mean, Castrol can produce FE oil for BMW. But I am wondering if 0W30 is their A3 oil, which would be excellent. No idea. Guy just said he was “filling the 0W30”. Although most of the newer B engines use the 0W20. Whatever that is.
The previous barrels of 0W30 did say LL01FE on them.
Ya, but you weren't drinking it.I was taking the picture. LOL
perhaps someone can post when the new bottles come in.I mean, Castrol can produce FE oil for BMW. But I am wondering if 0W30 is their A3 oil, which would be excellent.
My Indy shop owner who is now retired told me his first job with Mercedes in the 80’s was putting Mobil 1 stickers under the hood of all new cars when they arrived. My E90 has "BMW recommends Castrol" on the oil fill cap. That has had zero influence on what oil to run in it, even though it does currently have Castrol 0w40.
even in the 2000s they were still doing that. my E55 had this sticker. still available as a genuine part for $7.99My Indy shop owner who is now retired told me his first job with Mercedes in the 80’s was putting Mobil 1 stickers under the hood of all new cars when they arrived.
What grade is used in engines requiring LL-01 spec?We used to only get bulk 0W20 in our tanks. The 0W30 came in 55 gallon drums. We just got our first shipment of the 0W30 in our bulk tank. That’s what the truck was delivering.
I think they moved everything to this FE garbage. Not sure they sell LL01 5W30 anymore as I was getting other oils. I got at my local dealership TPT 5W30 LL01 last January, but not after that. What grade is used in engines requiring LL-01 spec?
Vehicles originally calling for LL-01 now get LL-01FE 0W30.What grade is used in engines requiring LL-01 spec?
I suspect it's going to be remarkably unremarkable like the Castrol SLX before it.press release made it official about 2 weeks ago, anyone get the new stuff or data sheets anywhere?
My 07 F150 came with one. It's still on my truck.I remember when Ford's were sold in the early 2000's with gas caps that said "Ford Recommends BP Fuel"
