Nice, that is a very useful visual representation. The sodium graph adds an interesting new dimension. I wonder if it would be worth getting a leakdown test and bore inspection done, and then possibly inspecting the turbo if both are ok. Hopefully turbo removal on a 35d doesn't require engine removal like it does on a 50d!

Yes, good idea. I think there maybe merit in the leakdown test and bore inspection. I will investigate that this coming week.

I've also had a stab at plotting the data into a chart which shows an exponential wear trend line. Interestingly (and alarmingly) these charts show the 'best case' scenario, i.e. that at the start of the first test period the ppm was below the 50ppm rate for the Iron and 20ppm for Aluminium. If I plot the rate increase happening half way through the first period then the trend line (unsurprisingly) becomes even steeper...

I'm sending off another oil sample today, so I will have more data to work with mid-week hopefully.
