I put a 4 Seasons blower in my Ford minivan many years ago and it worked just fine. Easy replacement, the motor was mounted on the passenger side of the firewall.
TYC is one of the choices for mine and now on sale with a 10% manufacturer rebate . UAC, GPD, VDO and 4 seasons are the others. My VDO/Conti is already shipped so that is next try.
ok just thought I'd give a thumbs up for the TYC. oh man.. on sale 10% off!! good to know if you end up needing that one. Will be interesting to see how the VDO works out for you.
So I sent back the four seasons one and got the VDO/Conti. It was much better and nice and quiet at low speed a little noise on like speed 4, and a slight whistle at max but original had that also.
I bought the TYC to try. maybe a very slight bit noisier at low, hard to tell. pretty quiet throughout, same whistle on high.
The VDO/Conti seems to move a bit more air across all speeds IMO. No meters to test just overall flow feeling from vents. I'll keep the VDO/Conti in and send back the TYC.
If I had done the TYC originally it would be just fine but the VDO/Conti seems to move the air better at low with very slight sound advantage. I'm normally on high to cool off the car and then low speed. The ceramic tint helps a lot at keeping things cooler.
There was also a TSB on older models and maybe higher trims about that white pillow type insulation. Mine doesn't have that so maybe that would help it even more. Might need to investigate that.

Good to know the TYC is still decent quality, it's easy to say mine is good, but a more recent snapshot shows they're still decent.. Glad to hear the VDO/Conti is what you're keeping and its working out well for ya!
I put a TYC blower motor in my sisters car six years ago. It’s still going strong. The blower motor connector had melted around one of the pins. I went ahead and put on a new connector, replaced the resistor and replaced the blower motor.
Blower on my 3rd Gen 4Runner would squeak. Put a TYC in it as it was cheap. Squeak is gone and honestly it moves more air than the original. Pretty pleased with it. That said yes the overall blower operation tends to be louder than an OE one.
