Blizzaks on the Mustang!

Those will work pretty good, but for the next set, if you can go for the smallest rims that fit, to get as narrow and high profile as possible, as those would be the better IMO. Also, I like the studdable snow tires(left unstudded) as they have more space in the tread pattern so they cut through slush and deep snow better than unstudded ice tires IMO. You are probably going to be driving on more wet snow and slush than ice in MS. Blizzaks, Xice, and many others have a surprisingly small amount of space in the tread which makes them work better on actual ice, and they run quieter all the time, but for unplowed roads, they are worse than the old aggressive open tread snow tires IME.
Mustangs can work in the snow, I remember one snowy trip home in northern ontario and a guy with mid 2000's mustang GT passed 6 of us, going like 55 mph with the car just a little sideways the whole time, back tires throwing twin rooster tails... It was a very impressive piece of driving! I guess if you drive a Mustang around Timmins Ontario, you must have learned to hold a drift.

Finally snow! I went almost 5 weeks without so much as a flake flying after I bought them. Often driving home from work in 60 degree temps. 😳. Like I said this isn’t really a snow tire climate (until you need them that is.)

What a world of difference! I drove over to my son’s house in a fresh 3 inches and back in 4. Could tell a slight difference between 3 and 4 inches but these things are amazing. Some mentioned on this thread, the biggest difference was turning and stopping and they were right, although getting going was a complete non-issue as well. No fear of stopping on an incline either.

I still think depth will be this cars nemesis and 5” is probably the prudent max.

Hopefully a helpful comment....On snow or ice, if you have ABS, USE IT. Hold the brakes, let it engage, let it make all kinds of noise and vibrations as it will ultimately allow you to steer the car. It actually works! I'm an old fogie and was brought up long ago to pump brakes etc. You do not need to pump brakes with ABS. The car will actually loose more traction and directional control if you do.
